Cynergy Happenings

If you haven’t been to a recent Cynergy event here’s your chance to catch up on everything that you’ve missed. Another successful year has passed for the Cynergy volunteers working with the KV Chamber mentoring program at Cony High School. The program was developed three years ago and currently has thirteen Cynergy volunteers who go in to the school once a month and speak to assigned classrooms. The Cynergy business mentor is a resource person who helps students to understand workplace expectations and the importance of post-secondary education. This year's program was capped by participation in the annual Day of Caring event, and a special presentation by Tyson Weems, from the Health League, about building personal, community and environmental health. The June social at Margaritas was a huge success with over thirty attendees.  It was great to see many of our regular members as well as many new faces attending Cynergy for the first time.  Special thanks to Sarah Dunckel and Barrett Benedict for donating door prizes. 

Cynergy’s second Lunch & Learn for the year was held earlier this month at the Gin Mill and catered by the Riverfront BBQ & Grille.  Jane Carpenter from the Maine Attorney General’s Office gave an insightful presentation about Identity Theft and Privacy.  Carpenter offered many useful pieces of advice on how to protect yourself from identity theft as well as what to do if you become a victim.  Special thanks to Kennebec Savings Bank for sponsoring this event.

Summer is officially here and we hope that you will join Cynergy for one of our upcoming events.  We’re looking forward to our next social networking event on July 1^st at Higher Grounds where we will be celebrating our 3^rd birthday.  Come have some cake and celebrate with us! Our annual summer BBQ is right around the corner so mark your calendars for August 14^th. More information about these and other upcoming events will be coming to you soon.
