Cynergy held their annual holiday party on December 3rd. Over thirty capital area young people attended the event which was held in the event room of Joyce’s restaurant in Hallowell. The evening was filled with great food, and we were excited to have several new faces in the group.
Cynergy wanted this social event to also be an opportunity to help the community. Therefore, each guest was asked to bring an item to donate to the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers Christmas program. The Children’s Home was in need of donations for their Christmas program which distributes boxes of gifts and clothing to approximately 1,600 financially disadvantaged children throughout central Maine. Thanks to all the attendees who generously donated, we were able to give over forty gifts to this program. As the year come s to an end, the Cynergy steering committee hopes that you have enjoyed the events that we have put together for all of you. We had some great social events this year, including our Spring Bash celebration with the band the Returnables and our summer BBQ at Bicenntenial Park with the Little Easy Band. Cynergy members were also very active in the community working with United Way at the Day of Caring and the Fall Family Festival, participating in the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Bowl For Kids Sake, and continuing the mentoring program with students at Cony High School. In the New Year, we hope to continue to grow in numbers and put on more events that everyone will enjoy. We hope to see you all at one of our upcoming events in 2010! Happy Holidays, Cynergy Steering Committee
