Cynergy Happenings
The Cynergy March "Lunch and Learn" was a huge success with more than 40 members in attendance at the Gin Mill. Augusta Mayor Roger Katz spoke about the revitalization of downtown Augusta. He discussed many aspects of the plan including changes to downtown parking and increasing the number of residents there. Roger also reviewed existing projects, including moving UMA classes downtown and providing free WiFi. Gardiner Economic Development Director Jason Simcock discussed many changes to downtown Gardiner, including the Waterfront Park project and Rail Trail extension. He also explained how residents can get involved in the revitalization process.
Lunch & Learn

On the last Saturday in March several Cynergy members participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake, raising $525. KVConnect (another REALIZE!Maine chapter) participated in the event with Cynergy. The two teams bowled against each other, and Cynergy won!

February/March Cynergy Event Summary Cynergy timed things well when they rescheduled their ski trip to Sugarloaf for Sunday, February 28th. A fresh layer of powder had just fallen on the mountain, the sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day to be at the mountain. We were joined by a total of 16 Cynergy members ranging from all ski levels. For a few, it was there first time on skis while others have been life long skiers. All the trails were opened and many skied until the lifts were closed. A few even stayed at Sugarloaf Saturday night and were able to check out the nightlife, including a visit to The Rack. Everyone that attended had an amazing time skiing and hopes that Cynergy plans another skip trip so that more people will join this fun activity. On March 4th Cynergy held their monthly networking social at the Gin Mill in Augusta. We had a great turnout with 30 members attending this event. Cynergy would like to thank Central Maine Power Co for sponsoring this event. We would also like to thank the following businesses for their door prize donations: Riverfront Barbeque & Grille, Margaritas, and The Hair Company. Our socials are always the first Thursday of the month, and we hope to see you at the next one! There are also several volunteer opportunities for Cynergy members to participate in. The Children’s Center is looking for volunteers for the Chili Chowder Challenge on March 20th from 11-1:30 at the Augusta Armory. On March 27th, Cynergy will be bowling against KVConnect to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Bowl For Kids Sake at 4PM at Sparetime Recreation in Augusta. Come cheer us on and join us for some social time after. Our next event is a lunch and learn on March 24th at the Gin Mill. Check your e-mail for more information on this and other upcoming events. With several networking, social and community service activities happening, we hope to see everyone getting involved with Cynergy. |

From 5:00 to 8:00pm, over 30 people attended and had a great time catching up with longtime Cynergy friends, and meeting some new-comers to the social. The Kennebec Journal also had a representative at Higher Grounds to get some candid shots of members and find out some information about Cynergy. The KJ featured Cynergy in their new “Spotlight” segment on Monday, February 8 th. To view the article, please click here. Be on the lookout for Cynergy in future articles in the KJ.
